HNI - Web Application for Industrial Emergency Response
HNI (short for "Hoch- und Niedrigwasser-Informationssystem", information system for high and low water situations) is a web application for emergency response (primarily in case of flood) in an industrial environment. The application was developed for the chemical industry, but can be used in other industrial sectors as well. It provides a means of communication and exchange of information during an emergency, and it supports step by step execution of emergency plans prepared in advance.
The HNI has two especially salient features:
- Flexibility: The software can be adapted to specific needs easily and cost-effectively.
- Easy to use: The focus on essential functionality lowers training costs and facilitates efficient operation of the system.
HNI is run centrally on a server. The user only needs a web browser and and access to the server via the Internet or a local network. Appropriate mobile devices can also be used to access the application from almost anywhere.
